I started off with a 4" trailmaster suspension, but wanted to go bigger. For some reason I chose skyjacker but it failed after only one week. The drivers side pivot bracket collapsed and they gave me a run around about replacing the bracket. I couldn't wait the time it would take to jump through their hoops so I scrapped the kit and bought superlift. The kit was of superior quality from the get go and the superlift people are great to work with. I worked part time at an off-road shop for a while and I got a glimpse of their earlier super-runner steering kits. It was always impressive but the first ones bolted to the axle pivot bracket and it looked weak. Eventually they redesigned it and made the idle braket bolt to the cross member as is illustrated in the picture above. It is now comaptible with other brand suspensions and it greatly enhances the rangers steering capability. I highly recommend the super-runner steering kit for all rangers... It is a huge improvement over the inverted Y steering setup that comes from the factory.

It should be much cleaner in the coming months. If you look close you can tell I did a bad job prepping the undercarriage for paint. I thought that no one would notice but I once had a show judge point it out to me.

This time the entire chassis is going to bare metal, inside and out.

I am going to paint it all with black Zero Rust . It is a high solid rust proof coating like POR 15 but without the harmful diisocyanates. It also provides superior protection than POR15 as well.

It dries to a semi gloss finish but they also sell a high gloss clear to top coat the coating so that it will shine just like black paint.
