Help! I need ideas

I really don't want to lower my Ranger more than I have to, but I would like a smoother ride and possibly better handling. What all can I do to achieve this? In my opinion its already low enough (for me that is), but of course any bumps in the road shake the truck with a raging vengeance Besides, if I get an engine swap next year I want some suspension work to make it perform better, ride smoother, and handle better. What all can I do, and what are some estimated prices for upgrades?

Lower the back alittle(level the truck), change shocks(almost any shock is better than factory...good ones are Edelbrocks or Bilsteins-sp), put a larger sway bar up front and add one in the rear. Probably in the neighbor hood of $600......good thing is you can do them separately, start with lowering the back alittle and then follow with the others.

go for leveling out the back. and some rear shocks. then when you swap the engine out( you know you want to) swap out the front end stuff.

Go for a 2/3 drop, it will give you a good stance and better handling.

Re: Help! I need ideas

It's a TRUCK. So it's always going to ride a bit rough. Either go for the 2/3" drop or just flip the rear. Then a good set of shocks.
I went with the 2/3" drop and shocks, left the stock sway bar up front and none in the rear. Handling was greatly improved.
But I didn't care for the ride. So I put it back to stock until I can afford to bag it.
