| Ok, newbie moment here... What is IFS? I can guess it stands for independent Front Suspension, and that it relates to newer rangers, but what is the difference? I recall it being said IFS is not friendly for offroading lifts, but I still an not clear on what IFS is and what Rangers had before. Can someone paste a tech link, or care to explain?

| an independent front suspension is diferent than an axle... IFS uses two "arms" that go down to the wheels that move indepentently of eachother (thus the name IFS)... flop on your back sometime and look at the difference between your front suspension and your rear. rear suspension is based on an axle, which moves back and forth... ifs allows for greater articulation... hope that helps.

| if you want to do it you can use/fabricate the suspension off of a corvette to fit under there. it uses irs or maybe off of a explorer

| You will probably be best off finding a Mustang cobra IRS read end, and getting that to fit. Hopefully the axle is the same width... But with any of the above, it will be some Major fabrication work...
