Question what's all this fuss over spindle lifts?.

after careful review and searching, i seem to have found a pretty good deal on a spindle lift.... how difficult is the installation? is it harder than suspension? easier than body? should i risk it myself?
and does anyone have a url of a good online step-by-step guide / how to?

i think this is what i am gonna do to mine. a 3 inch spindle and a 4" spring in the rear

If i am not mistaken Justin had his spindle lift installed by 4 wheel parts...if you do it yourself you need some help from several people and I would not do it unless you find someone who has done one already

Where you getting yours at and for how much? Eventually I hope to put a 3" body and/or spindle lift on mine.

we did one on my friends 2001 edge took 6 hrs to do the front and rear. it is not that hard just take your time and do as the instructions say. getting the ball joints apart where the hardest part.

kevin it isnt that hard at all. I put the spindle lift on mine. I found it easier than the body lift.

what tools did you need because on my drop that i had on i took out the top of the spindle and the bottom was just another bolt to take the whole thing off.

On the body lift. not the spindle. We needed sockets. the guys shop i did it at, I thought he had a variety of them.. and he didnt. but we finally got it done.

After the holiday, I say we all get together and put spindle lifts on all our trucks. I say somewhere in january, because that's when I can afford it, maybe same with everybody else?
Anyway, With everybody helping each other, and everybody bringing tools, it should be a fun way to knock out all the lifts in a day.

omg, i cant believe we're still using this thread. my truck has been lifted almost a year now... and the secret is, wait another few years, once the 5 yr factory warrantys have run out, and manufacturers will release bigger lifts for us gen III ranger guys... i guarantee it. i'm going to buy another vehicle, something like a 'stang or a T/A for a daily driver, and when those lifts come out, i'm gonna do a serious overhaul on the truck.
