does it make a difference on the way it rides with bigger rims?

i got a f150 supercrew,,and i wanted to put 22's on it with the proper size tires for everyday use.

i heard that it takes away from the smooth feel of driving, that bigger rims make it a bumpy road, is that true?,,

i also heard that a way to fix that is to put airbags on it, and that well smooth out the ride, true??

.....what ya'll think?

I dont think that larger rims will affect your ride... however if you change shocks it could. Dropping it on bags will also affect your ride and whether or not you change shocks on this could be the difference between comfort and hell on the road. Enjoy.

The increase in mass (weight w/tire) of the 22s does affect the ride. Once you get over 20 inch in wheels you need to think about brakes also. The added weight is harder work for the shocks and brakes. The ride is alittle firmer and brakes and abs system working harder too. Personally I wouldn't go over 20s, I think that is a fair compromise between 22s and factory(16 or 17s). Whatever u choose we all want to see pics!

Well...going to rims that big is going to make a difference because the tires on 22's are so low profile that you will feel more bumps.

you definitely want new brakes. i got a set of 32 inch tires and a set of 29 inch tires. my truck stops LOTS quicker without the weight of the 32s.

K...in my opinion i feel more bumps with low pro's.....drove my stang on 15's 80 series i think....and compared to the 40 series on 17's big differance....15s were smooth an rode nice (just didnt corner)......prob because less of a sidewall to absorb the bumps......would definitly upgrade at least the front brakes.... BTW the 15's were actaully heavier than my 17's so i dont know if that helped or hindered

so when get my 22's in should look into tougher brakes.... you guess seen that supercrew from www.wingswest.com ?,,its got 24 and tougher brakes called Force...(i think),,,,

about that tire being so low profile...you could actually fit a thicker size tire on 22s, as thick as u want and ass thin as u want...,,,,,
