Gear problem solved?

The reason I didnt want to change the rear end is because the Ford guy told me that my tranny would have to be recalibrated for shift points or something.

I have now been told by a member of FordTruckWorld that changing from 3.31 to 4.11 and puttin 32 inch tires on will require no tranny adjustments. The only problem will be the speedometer.

He says that the Ford dealer only wanted my money.

Any confimation on this?

How much does a gear swap cost in labor? Ballpark figure from experience wanted.

Thanks.

My step dad told me he would buy the gears for my truck if I pay the labor. Through my
work we just hired a guy that can set gears! After Xmas I think I will hit him up for them!
I'm thinkin' 3.90s, one company I know of makes them for 8.8 rears.
