| Body Lift I saw on truckperformance.com that they have a 3" lift kit for my 2002. I know absolutely nothing about lift kits or if they are worth it. I want to get some more ground clearance but is 3" worth it though. There is no way i can install it myself since i have no tools accessible to me. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. How much would someone charge me to put in on for my truck? I saw in other posts that you guys had mentioned something about an extensioin for manual trannys and extenders for the fenders and bumpers. Like i said....i know nothing about this stuff.:puzzled: |

| Go for it, Benny! It's not hard at all! Ummmm, unless you try to do it on a 20-year old truck!! When I installed my 3" lift (which is PLENTY of lift BTW) last year, more that half of my bed and body mounts were rusted out! The cab mount under the driver's seat was totally rusted through! It was just "floating". I had to cut 3 mounts off of my donor truck and weld them up to replace the bad ones on my truck. NO simple job my body lift project!

| yea....i have a 3" body lift....friends are good, and if you know people who have body shops or auto shops and they have air impact wrenches, those make life so much easier. All i have to say is becareful with the bumper brackets...they are not very load bearing. I found that out when i was in the middle of a 3 car pile up and my front bumper was in my fenders and radiator. But other than that i love it.

| I disagree with that yoshtin... a body lift is rather easy to install. It requires you to loosen the 10-12 body mount bolts... jack the body up... slip in the blocks and drop the new bolts through. Although it takes a bit longer than described... a suspension lift requires your to disasseble the suspension (especially up front), and add the new components. A lot more tools are needed for this, most of which are not in everyones garage.

| I have done My own body lift and My own suspension lift. both of them took about 8 hours. I had Air tools on the suspension lift and regular hand rachets on the body lift. Both were fairly simpe if you have a basic knowlegde of where everything is. Now i had a friend of mine He didnt know what the heck he was doing and it took him about 4 days to do his lift. He was calling me every 30 minutes asking what to do next. CHeck out my gallery at FTW for pics www.fordtruckworld.com/bomber if you have any questions feel free to email me./

| yea YOSHTIN i would also tend to disagree with you body lifts are much simpler to do...that one is just removal of bolts and replacing with blocks and longer bolts.....where as my 2" suspension (which still is not in!!) requires more knowlege of front especially steering linkage, suspension companents, shocks and all that other b/s......just mo opinion!
