New Ford Guy Here

Hello, My Name is Dale
(they all chime back in unison...
"helllooooooo, Dale"):wavey:

and I'm a Fordoholic. :fordsrule:

I haven't always been this way. It all started so gradually six years ago when I bought my POS '83 Ranger that I had to get when my wife started working.
We had a Dodge Caravan as our only household means of transportation and I needed something to drive to work. I chose the Ranger because after one look into the baren enging bay, I knew that even a novice such as I would be able to work on that little lawn mower engine.

Well, I certainly did get my feet wet with that little truck!!!

After having the truck for 3 years, I grew tired of constant carbureator problems and bought a wrecked '87 Ranger for parts. I did the 2.3 and EFI swap and a year later due to excessive use of RTV, I spun a crank bearing when the oil pickup screen clogged.
:nono:

My Ranger has been sitting for almost 2 years now while I slowly but surely acquire the parts I need to install a 5L V8 out of an '87 Mustang.

In those two years, I have accumulated more knowledge, capability, cars, and projects.

My Ranger is SO CLOSE to being done and thanks to it, I have become a total ford man!

Here is a list of my Fords:

1983 Ranger (with 5.0L Mustang powertrain)

1985 Mustang V6 (getting '94 SEFI upgrade)
(someday will belong to my 15-year-old son)

1990 Escort (leaving the 1.8L alone...LOVE getting 38 MPG when the gas prices creep up!)

1991 Ranger (going to get rid of the 2.3 and put in a 4.0 (4.0 engine on stand right now!))
(recently bestowed upon my 18-year-old son as a graduation gift!)

1996 Mustang Convertible (stock 3.8 right now but I have a '95 super coupe engine on a second stand right now!)
(MY Midlife crisis!)

1997 Thunderbird 4.6L LX (going to put the body effects from the 95 SC to "sporty" 'er up a bit)
(Bought from Ebay auction for $3995!! For my wife so she stops asking to drive MY Stang to work!)

So I'll be cruising all the boards here whenever I need help with one of my respective projects.

PS> Anybody want to buy a '94 Dodge Caravan? hmmm?
As they say on Sesame Street....
"One of these things is not like the others...one of these things just doesn't belong..."

AAAARRRRGHHH!!! HOW DO I TURN OFF THE "chevy man" BS??

Ahh, I figured it out. Time to go spam ALL the boards so I can rid myself of that ugly mole attached to my name!! :chevysucks:

Thanks Justin

and thanks to leading me here from Fordranger.com. I will continue to use that simple forum because it is a very 'mature' and familiar crowd to me. They used to be much bigger and better but problems caused them to become humbler.

Yeah, I spouted off my mouth too soon regarding the status thing. I figured it out very soon after posting my rant.

Thanks again for the invite

Thanks Jas

and it didn't REALLY cost that much. Most of my Fords were either fixer-uppers or once in a lifetime deals.
