Blaze's 86 Crown Vic, think twice about this grandpa car...

So hello! This is my Vic which is a pure extension of myself. I have a 95 Mustang GT engine with 1.7 roller rockers, 1-5/8" ceramic coated headers, 2-1/2" dual exhaust, aluminum radiator, T5 manual transmission, billet flywheel, king cobra clutch, Hurst short through shifter, 3.55 TrueTrac torsion differential, 925lb/in springs in the front, 225lb/in springs in the rear, QA1 shocks (soon to be Tokico), police anti sway bars with poly bushings, 17X9 wheels with HRT-Z 275/40 on all 4 corners, tan leather racing seats, and one hell of a driver!

I have had this car for over 6 years now. Both my Father an I are the only people to have worked on this thing for the past 15 years +. I work for track credits so that I can participate in open track weekends for free. It's the most fun you can have in a car, short of maybe Rally Racing.

Anyways my most recent mods were the manual trans and new seats. And 2 days after I finished converting it to manual I put everything to the test with a set of Hoosier slicks and a 200+ mile open track weekend at VIR! I drove over 300 miles to and from the VIR facility, and put over 200 miles on the track in two days. Everything went awesome, and as one spectator at the event said to me "You're out there making all these guys with their fancy cars look like a bunch of homos!"

Anyways, it's a ton of pics so instead of reposting them all over again. Just follow my CarDomain which is now fully updated, or browse my ride thread on GMN which you have to go the last few pages to get any up to date info, but has a whole lot of pics.

And yes, I do have videos, these are my StreetFire.Net videos.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I'll be doing more in the coming weeks to prepare for the next track event....basically what ever I can afford...

List to do;
remove automatic shift lever,
fix seat bracket squeak,
replace PS pump,
rebuild steering box,
replace all the shocks,
do something about the rear suspension,
convert to rear disc brakes,

have fun removing the shifter. i ended up taking the entire column off of the car to remove the shifter entirely. if you dont do it you're going to be getting a constant clunking sound when you turn.

did you upgrade to a 98+ PI gearbox like i did? if you still got a leak, most auto parts places sell the pitman shaft seal kit for about $25. i ended up having to replace the seal on my PI box. its pretty easy to do on the car, takes maybe 20 mins max.

have you gone big brake yet? you're a good candidate for the larger brakes since you can run larger wheels. i stuck to the originals because i wanted to keep the 15" steelies

I'll probably just cut it off below the steering column cover, I don't get any of that noise you are talking about. The only thing on the car is the chrome lever and the one shaft attached to it. Everything else is gone.

My steering box isn't the one leaking, it's the PS pump from the tank (an easy fix) but my steering box is broken in the form of metering the power assist.

I do not have the big brake up grade yet. I am so broke it aint funny. Though if I can manage it on top of the shocks, I'll do the rear disk brakes soon. I think I'm going to skip the next track event to help recover some money.

you're going to get that noise if yuo cut it off. the lever is what keeps it from turning freely and making noise. believe me i analyzed this a million times when i did the floor shifter.
