Whats Up, Noob here

Hey everyone! This forum looks great, hope ya don't mind me cruising in.

Everyone has different opinions of what rice is, and I've been laughed out of a couple communities as being a ricer when I don't consider myself one. I believe in different cars for different purposes. For example, a car you actually use for performance and racing should be just that. A car project, or "cruising car" could be anything you want it to be (big spoilers and body kits and all, although I don't like those personally) as long as you know that its for cruising and its not made to be fast. Then you have experimental cars which you could get cheap or free and do wacky stuff to just to see what its like. Anyway, I frown on FWD economy cars as racing cars, and very large rims and low-pro tires on SUV's, I dislike gaudy stickers, heavy body kits, fugly spoilers, almost all vinyls and so on.

I personally have an experimental/cruiser car right now. Its an 86 Fiero 2.5 iron duke 4 cyllinder (blech) that I got from my great uncle for 300$. Its automatic (which I hate) but thats the only thing my wife can drive. I'm throwing on some styling things, mostly for the interior, like blue accents and some blue LED gauge lights (but thats because the gauge lights dont work at all). I've put in a voltometer and temp gauge because the ones in dash were broken (actually only the speedo works), and a mp3/cd system because I loves my music. But the main thing is, the car is slow and I know it. I don't claim amazing speed or horsepower, the engine is a POS. And yes I did a rattlecan job (black) because the old paint was awful and even this much looks better than it used to. If it flakes or looks crappy I don't really care, the car is basically disposable, however if I make enough $$ eventually, a 350 will be dropped in and it will get professional paint and restoration.

We just moved from Hawaii which has an ENORMOUS amount of rice. I was amazed when I got here to see that amount literally disappear (i have only seen 2 or 3 so far in a month, in hawaii i saw 8 or 10 in every single parking lot).

My last couple cars were awful but free: an 86 camry and a 95 sidekick

What I really wanted and was going to get was a MKIII supra, or else possibly a 300ZX but the supra I test drove had an engine on its last legs :(

Anyway apologies for the long post, but thats me.
