is car a necessity?

with the oil price increase, are you still willing to use your car everyday? or you just use it for emergency and if you really need it?

Re: is car a necessity?

I can not do without a car even if the fuel prices go through the roof.As long as people will use I will use the car but I can be a little careful as to the waste of fuel.I mean learning to save fuel is my motto from now onwards.Any tips?

Re: is car a necessity?

I have neccessary uses for my cars. There are times I have to shuttle my kids around....need a vehicle large enough for that. I do use my most fuel efficient car to go back and forth to work. I have changed my driving habits abit, which has improved my mileage. I wonder what the price of fuel will have to be before people freak out and stop driving and protest. Fuel is a free market.......it can be priced at whatever the market will allow. So far the market is allowing pretty high prices. I'm looking into getting a motorcycle for my commute to work as a alternative, to save some fuel.

Re: is car a necessity?

that is really good. in my own opinion, i really think a car is really a necessity especially if you are in the US. And it is really convenient if you have a car.
