Stolen Truck in Texas

T/A just posted this on Truckblog, so thought I'd post it here too.

TXFFEMT came back from work and his truck had been stolen. It is hard to miss. White dually F350 mega lift, stacks, Punisher mudflaps, black striping on sides and "High Life" on tailgate, Alcoa rims with spikes.

Truck was stolen from the Fairway Inn parking lot in Laporte, Texas between 0730 and 1600 5/20/08.

If noticed please notify the proper authorities.

Thanks for looking and please forward this to other people you may know in Texas.

Re: Stolen Truck in Texas

I can't believe someone would steal this truck. It would stick out from 5miles away. Beautiful truck, I hope they get it back.

Re: Stolen Truck in Texas

Update from Texas Termin8er:

UPDATE

Rockin' Good News! Truck has been found! It's here in Houston at a Salvage yard near Almeda Genoa and North Freeway.

David doesn't know what shape it is in. He's on his way to the yard to see if he can see it as they closed at 4:30.

We will know more tonight after he calls.

David wants me to pass on his sincere thanks to everyone for spreading the word so quickly and their concern.

I will post up once I hear from him.

TA

and another:

He was able to see the truck in the yard from the street. Nothing appears to have been removed from the exterior. Doesn't know what the interior looks like yet. He's meeting the adjuster in the morning to look it over and will call with a final report.

Sounds like it may have been just some idiots going for a joyride. Doesn't appear to be a chop shop job. Hopefully he's just missing some stereo and video equipment and can move forward.

He had full coverage also so he should be OK on that front also. Hopefully he doesn't have to go through what Bearhunter did when his truck went missing.
TA

From the owner, Huff:

For those of ya'll that have posted on forums ya'll can copy and paste this.

I went and saw the truck this morning. The exterior is relatively fine except for the rear 2008 bumper that was damaged by the tow truck driver using the wrong tow truck for the job. All of my tools that were in the tool box, approximately $800 worth, are gone. They left all my straps and shackles for pulling people out. Now for the interior. One word, TRASHED! They gained entry through the driver door handle then used the same flat head screw driver to punch my ignition and get it to start. They tore the dash off to get the in dash screen and all the wires out, all the components along with the TV Tuner and my Ipod. They ripped up the carpet on the passenger side to get the TV Tuner and brain for the in dash screen. The took the 15 inch flip down monitor off of the head liner and pulled my custom speaker box from behind the seat. They ripped plastic pieces out from all over the place so they could rip wires loose. My glove box was emptied and my center console was completely gone through and scattered. Most of ya'll know I had a collection of Koozie's from different events in my driver's door. Well, all of them are gone. EVEN MY PINK KOOZIE! YES, they stole my pink koozie. For those that don't understand that part it is a long story. The insurance adjuster is going to look at it and take pics this afternoon and then we are going to go from there. I appreciate all ya'll getting word out about my truck being stolen and keeping your eyes open. For those that want to know where it was found, it was found at 4011 Old Galveston Road. That is what the police report stated. My adjuster knows everything that I saw and we will talk again when he sees it. I have been up since 4:30 yesterday afternoon and am now going to get some sleep. Thanks again ya'll.

Huff

Re: Stolen Truck in Texas

Great to hear he has it back. When something like that happens, you just have to make it better than before!

Re: Stolen Truck in Texas

It's a shame that something like this even happens. Who would be stupid enough to steal a truck in the first place, let alone a truck as easily placed as that one? Glad the owner got it back and it's mostly untouched/the rest is fixable.

Re: Stolen Truck in Texas

Quite an impressive and unique truck and probably that is the reason that the thief could not hold it for long.Hope you get it back in proper shape.Good luck!
