Server imploded and all posts, threads and members were lost. There was a week of down time before Dave even realized WTF happened.

So back to the story...

Fightrice reopens... alot of members come back...

Over moderation continues..... the site basically dies.. I mean dies... no posts, no active members..

Dave makes a triumphant return, builds the site back up to 20 active members.

We all vote to change the name to "the auto forums"
New VBulliten and everything. This site had every option you can get! It was pretty badass.

Tons of new members join... it's all going well... Dave sells the site to some guy from who knows where.

This guy brings in the News Bot. WTF?!?!?! we are like who the fuck is this guy? we had no idea Dave was selling the site...

Dave copies the user data base, rebuilds Fightrice, reopens its.

The new owner of the auto forums is furious and fires all of the mods. We all leave... of course the word spreads and everyone goes back over to fight rice.

Dace pulls a disapearing act. This time for like 3 months. The mods and DO take over and the site once again turns into a ghost town.

Dave semi promises to give the site to DO.

But in turns, buddy fucks him and sells the site to Ricer.

Hence, the exit of DO.

The site was open long before I joined. It was HUGE when I signed up. over 100 active members.

Between over moderation and the idea of picking on ricers fading...

this site has slowed tremendously.

Present day:

Ricer takes over.

He brings in new members, lots of them and all of a sudden the good ole boys/girls club that was once here is no longer.

The OG's fire back by disagreeing with every change. They complain about smilies being deleted that they never used, and many other things...

OG's:

I know this change came on quick. I know alot of you are pissed.... NONE OF US KNEW THE SITE WAS FOR SALE!!!!

You guys used to complain about how dead it was.... then poof! we have a ton of new members and you all dissapear.. WTF?

Maybe i'm missing something here? I dunno....

I remember the first time I was here before the crash. I got banned because I didn't use the image hosting on the forum and instead used CarDomain as my image host. Oh well.

Moderation is only necessary when you absolutely have to ban someone. Anything else is overbearing. I was an administrator on GrandMarq.Net for over 2 years until I recently resigned because I stood by my opinion that banning someone because they didn't have fun at a car meet and said so, was wrong. Maybe one day I'll run a forum of my own, but I have no desire to start one from scratch as there are forums for everything I am interested in already. And more would just be anoying.

i'd rather have a small site where everyone gets along and we have fun in the process then feeling like i'm in a concentration camp and can't express my concerns about things that I see might not be such a good idea for the site...

Alot of people left because there's alot of arrogance and control freaks on this site...the second you say something on here that some individuals with powers might not like...BAM it gets edited/erased/closed

alot of the OG's have been banned for this very reason...that's why a lot of them aren't posting...just a tidbit of info that will probably be erased in the near future..

A couple of people have lost the ability to post for defacing the site. I also want to mention I sent you an email and PM regarding your concerns JennEJ1 and never heard back from you.

Randy, It's the fucking internet, man. It wasn't done in real life, so it's all good.

And for your future reference, only a handful of people were banned for good reason. Of course, spammers got banned on the spot. Ofcourse, Frosty don't count. That kid's been banned more times than he'd prolly been layed.

I wish Ricer luck with the site. I really do.

To make you aware of a few things:

FR died down because (as you said), the whole anti-ricer thing has been fading for a couple of years now. People have better shit to do. A lot of the Original OG's aren't around anymore because they have real life stuff to deal with. Hell, even you stopped coming around for quite a while. Why is that? Surely, it's not because the staff was overbearing or because you were banned. You were ON the staff.

There is no reason for me to hold any ill feelings towards Dave. Did he go back on his word? Sure. Did it give a lot of people an idea of how much his word is worth? I think so. But in the end, who really cares. Again, it's the internet. Had he done this to me in real life on an actual business transaction, I would have felt a little differently... as would he.

Are some of the OG's going to keep giving ricer shit? Possibly. Can't really change that. The trick is for him to laugh it off. Eventually, the harassment will die down.

In closing, in the words of the Reggie, "Can't we all just get aloooong?"

I don't have time to erase signatures and posts that are negative towards this site. Especially when the user is making as many posts as possible just to be a pain in the ass. I'm not going to get into details about who.

Ya I tried to keep people around for a while who wanted to cause trouble. I was hoping they would cool down after a while and drop it but they didn't. It was taking up too much time.

Before the crash that lost all the user accounts, a few years ago. It happened really fast so it's possible you never saw me. I think I was a legitimate member for like 2 days, since I was banned for my Ride Thread which was like the first thing I posted.

Like I said earlier though, oh well. Hopefully that's over and done with. I haven't noticed anything outrageously odd since I've been back. And I see a lot of the funniest little videos and pics posted here in the Pit Stop.

Ricer, I know your the owner, but you have to understand one thing, WE GIVE EVERYONE SHIT. We don't give a damn WHO it is. Everyone gives everyone shit and they get it right back. That has held true since day one. If you, as the owner, can't take the shit that the GP will give...then grow a thicker coat of skin. Hell, like D.O said, I was banned more times than any member on this site for NO REASON at all. The :ban: stick used to be named the :frosty: stick. You can ban me for this if you want.....not like I've NEVER been banned from FR before

You can stand by whatever statement you choose, incorrect as it may be.
But I really don't recall ANY members being banned from not posting intros. Where would be the fun in razzing them for not posting intros, if they were banned. Ricer has access to the banned list. And perhaps you do as well.

So this guy Dave sold the site to someone. But kept a copy of the data base and then after he sold the site reopened it? Not cool at all. I don't blame the guy for being pissed.
