I know how that is. I had to deal with shit like that at the store that I worked at. One day I jsut had enough and walked out and never went back. They got screwed hard for the next two days when they didn't have anyone to replace me.

I know how you guys feel. Ive been waiting for around five years to get promoted. Still hasnt happened. Ive seen people come in for a couple weeks and get the promotion. One guy i trained is now a higher up in the company, and im still stuck here. My job sucks so much nut, and whats worse is i have no where else to go. Ive applied to so many places. One place called me back, but instead of hiring me for where i applied they wanted me to work at a building fourty five minutes away, so i had to turn it down. When i was sent to pharmacy they gave me a ten cent raise. Talk about a bunch of assholes, they have me work in two departments, sometimes in the same day running back in forth, and only for ten cents more than what they were giving me. On top of that, a girl that just started maybe two weeks ago just got promoted, not to assistant like i want, but another position in the company. She got a two dollar raise for it. I tell my manager time and time again that i need at least 29 hours. For the past month he's been cutting my hours more and more. I am currently down to around 19 hours a week. Im getting pushed more and more to the edge, and my boss has been avoiding me cause he knows how much i wanna go off on him, and i dont know how much longer i could hold it in.

I started my current job in December of 04 at 6 dollars an hour, which is the starting wage for a person who works evenings. No raises yet. Last January, I became available to work days regularly, which SHOULD have put me at 7 bucks an hour automatically. I have yet to see that happen. I'm becomming annoyed, myself.

Jobs that virtually anybody can do (mainly retail) suck, period. There isn't a reason for the company to give a shit about you, or what you make. They can train somebody else to do your job just as easily, not really rocket science. "Specialty" jobs (or whatever you want to label them as) seem to be a little better (or seemingly so in my experience). I worked in retail for 3 1/2 years, it took me a while to come to this realization. Anybody can stock a shelf, ring some shit up in a register, or carry groceries to a car. Granted you may be exceptionally good at it, but that doesn't make you special - just makes it easier to find a similar job at a similar company, that will similarly not give a shit about you as an employee. My recommendation? Find something that not anybody can do that requires some kind of skill set, obtain the skills via school or whatever necessary steps need to be taken to do said job - and never ever work retail again. Ever. Unless of course, your one of the afformentioned assholes that get's hired over the top of everybody else automatically .My :twocents:
