| Aging owners, $4.00 plus gas, good car deals Last year Shannon posted some concerns, including the aging population of hot rod, custom, muscle car owners. This year for the first time I was a full participant in the local 3 day classic car event, which was fun. Dont know where I've been for 30 years. However the dance was a little sobering. Gray was the usual hair shade, walkers canes and wheelcairs were present, and no dancing, likely due to knees which were older than the cars.
So, add to that demographic our situation out here on the west coast regarding gas, and my prediction is that prices for classic specialty cars will be coming down, as the numbers on the market start to rise. But there is still the question of who will be able to afford to drive them, good buy or not.
A 10 mpg fire breathing beast will soon cost over 40 cents per mile in FUEL ALONE.
I've been collecting new parts for a new motor. It will be another Y, with emphasis on MPG, but still will have a reasonable 215 HP, and an estimated 24 miles per gallon. May get lucky and get 26. The truck is just too much fun to be relagated to parades or the classifieds.
