mistubishi lancer?

Hey my mom is looking at buying a 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer and I was wondering if I could get some advice from you guys.

I have a few questions.

1) It says it has done just over 250,000kms. Is that a lot for a second hand car at that price ($2500)
2) Are these cars reliable?

Many thanks.....
