| pretty cool. figure out what the red wire is all about, whether its stock or something to do with an old alarm it might have had, and rewire it back to the way it came from the factory and that should solve your door ajar light and the dome light issue. The only thing i dont like about it is the visor thing on the top of the windshield, but i guess you cant do much about that without repainting the roof. |

| not bad...maybe the red wire was for the deck?? sounds like it had weird quirks like my other civic, which was enough to get rid of it lol i'd take the red top off until i got it painted, it kind of looks a little goofy like that :morons: ..i like rangers, one of the very few domestics/trucks i would own :) keep us updated on the truck cause i'd like to see it evolve!

| thanks jenn :) i'm glad you like it. even tho it's not a mopar, i really like it too. i don't like regular rangers that much, but the splash ones are pretty kool. ucima, you know what, i didn't like the windshield hood thing at first either, but then it kinda grew on me. plus it keeps snow that we get around here offa the windshield :thumbsup: it looks like it's got a little ball cap on ![]() the lady did mention something about an alarm system... but as with everything else, she was very unclear. i do know that there is no "clicker" with the truck, all we got were keys. she said there never was a button. :dunno: |

| Nice pick up for 3k. I kind of like the visors as long as they don't have the retarded marker lights in them. It looks like it's in really good shape for a 12 year old truck in great lake state. Should have a 4R70W tranny, they are pretty decent trannys. Is it a 2.3, 2.5, 3.0 or 4.0? |
| ||||
| you should know we pick things apart to that extent :laugh:

| lol yea, i should know that by now! hey guys... this is driving us crazy. we have been out in the garage for hours now trying to get the sound to work. the factory stereo had no sound at all, and now that we've hooked up the cd player from the valiant, we are still getting no sound. the fuses are all good for the radio and "audio system" and since ya pick everything apart, YES there ARE speakers in the truck what the heck is goin on here, any ideas??? |
| ||||
| well those are some good questions do. as usual, my small amount of experience so far in my life limits the quality of my answers. but i'll do my best. the radios both work perfectly. they turn on (always a good thing lol), tune to stations, the "stereo" light comes on, the cd plays if you want it to... everything works as it should, except we are getting absolutley no sound. no cracks or pops or hisses or static or anything. |

| like DO said, you might have an amplifire somewhere, in which case it might need the signal from the radio to trip the amp on when the radio goes on. So you might have to hook up your remote wire on the new cd deck so it will give power to that wire and signal the amp to turn on. Easiest way to tell is to look at the harness adapter and find the one labeld remote then find what pin it is and match it up to the stock wiring plug and see if it has a wire in that slot. If it does thats probably the remote turn on for the amp and you need to hook that up. Hope that makes sense. |

| check that the speakers are still in working order, the voice coils could have burnt out. TEST ONE: remove speaker and test Ohms with multi meter being stock should read 8 or 4 ohms. if there is no reading you can try this but do it quickly and i mean fucking FAST. TEST TWO: 9V batt across the power spades. if the speaker moves. it's good. but must be fast or you will fry the voice coil. thats to see if the speakers are in working order. if they are and the HU powers up. it's a fault in the loom, or an external amp thats possably fried. ford tend to keep the amps behind the driver seat. in a pannel. so check there. but this being an older ford, i have no idea. just check for an amp in the user manual. actually theres a question. how many speakers is this system??
