Got a few things for the Civic

Finally got my header in today, so I figured I'd give everyone an update with what is sitting in my room waiting to go on the car.

-Kamikaze 4-1 header with 2.5" collector. Thing is f'in massive, absolutely cannot wait to get it on the car and get rid of my DCsports header. (SCC, want a header lol)
-Omnipower 2.5" test pipe ... with the gigantic flange. I swear it has a flange for a 3" header, I still need to grind in the bolt holes in the flange to mate it with the massive 2.5" collector!
-Koni Yellow Adjustable Shocks. I'm mating these with some Ground Control Coilovers that I just ordered last night.
-B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator and B&M Fuel Pressure Gauge set.
-P28 ECU chipped with Crome and the green mess of wires there is the OBD2a - OBD1 conversion harness.
-DSM 450cc injectors. Still need resistor box and clips, but I'll hit the junkyard for those.

Total tally is about $1550 in parts just sitting in my bedroom. Wow, that's kind of depressing actually.

Fired you a PM. I honestly can't wait to get everything on and running. The Ground Controls just can't get here fast enough.

My car is still going to toast yours when I'm done modding it... Mabye I'll add a scoop on the trunk to make it ram colder air into my spare tire well, that should at least give me 24 more HP :fawk:

If I'm not mistaken the ECU is open loop. The chip holds all of the timing/afr/revlimit/vtec engagement yada yada yada. I can however using Crome change it to closed loop, so it's whatever I want.

Yup, I'm SCed.

romance - the green mess of wires is the conversion harness, and sorry but when I upgrade I'll be going to GSR brakes.

Now, im to smart when it comes to SC's but dont you have to run open loop with one? for tuning purposes?

also does that ECU come with tuning software?

last question...

is the bung sealed on that DP?

Ehhh to be honest I'm not 100% sure. I do know that most tuners will tune on open loop first to get the car running correctly, but WOT is closed loop anyway.

Crome is free software, so all I'd have to do is download it. I'm not going to be the one tuning my car this time, I don't have the resources or the knowledge yet.

And no it's a screw bolt in the bung. :yesway:

Haha, yeah I know, I'm just one of those people who likes to do everything myself and hates to pay for labor.

Thank god I'm not spending $700 on getting tuned, wow.

well, its not just a tune.

Its the device that you load the tune and it comes with the following maps loaded

1. Valet- will not allow RPM's to go over 3000 (good for letting a Friend or family member drive the car)
2. stg I 237 WHP
3. Stg II 300WHP (catted DP required)
4. stg II 91 octane (for California users)
5. Locking mode. (car cannot be started or hot wired) good for long trips away...
6. Data logging function, I plug it in and it records my A/F ratio and spool time, I in turn send those to my tuner and he sends me a custom map. (for free)

plus you can connect it to your computer for easy download of various maps.

the actual AP itself costs $645, I purchased it from a tuner who loaded his Protune map into it. For the extra $45 I get unlimited free maps for the entire time I own the AP.

as you know, when you make a MOD to your car you have change your maps.

I get them all for free, all I have to do is email my mod list and I get a map emailed back to me, which i download, then load in my car.

So basically for $700 I saved my self hours of dyno time and $$$$$ in new maps.

same size is fine with me as long as there lighter and you can mount a pair of slicks on them.
