| Re: 92 Bronco SAS Removing and grinding of the rivets that hold on the old coil buckets. The bucket finally gone ![]() Next we removed the old 8.8 and springs ![]() Here is my buddy Tom grinding off the old spring hanger. I have some Sky manufacturing shackles on the way. ![]() All the factory hangers are now gone and the rust cleaned off ![]() I also swapped in a F-350 brake booster and master cylinder ![]()

| Re: 92 Bronco SAS Removed the old transmission and swapped in the c6. BTW the factory crossmember won't clear the front driveshaft if you plan on having any flex at all. ![]() The starting point of the new crossmember ![]() Doing some cutting and tacking everything in place ![]() adding some gussets, capping everything and finish welding ![]() Alittle paint ![]() Bolted into place, tranny now resting on the new mount ![]() ![]() ![]() Still have to get something right under the transfer case and support the motor crossmember.

| Re: 92 Bronco SAS I finished the crossmember/Skidplate , I lengthed the back bar for more support and fastened everything with grade 8 bolts. I finished installing the shifter and linkage for the c6. I also installed a shifter for the t-case thanks to a old broken power bar I got from my grandfather years ago. My axles in the shop ![]() Finished crossmember ![]() New Shifters in place ![]() ![]()

| Re: 92 Bronco SAS Here I just got the front of the truck on the ground. I still have to take everything apart once I confirm everything is straight. I am going to round off the ends of the hangers and weld a 1" square support 1/2 way down. Also everything will have to be welded in for good and painted. It looks like the truck will have approx 10" of lift. The tires on it are 39.5 x 16.5 Pitbull Rockers. Here are a few pics: Getting leafs into place ![]() Had to make a top spring plate ![]() Welded 1/4" plate around for strength ![]() Springs in place ![]() Dana 60 finally under the truck ![]() ![]() Finally some pics with the tires on and sitting on the ground ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Re: 92 Bronco SAS I finished installing the 14 bolt and hanging the rear springs. I also decided to move the rear axle 6" to the rear. I still have to figure out how I will finish the panels to make this look right. Worse case the old recip saw will make enough room to stuff the 40s. Here are the pics: Sky Manufacturing shackles ![]() rear installed ![]() It has been a long time coming but it is finally on the ground ![]() Just to give you an idea on the height, Carrie is 5'4" ![]()

| Re: 92 Bronco SAS I have to start finishishing the front but in order to do that I have to mock up the front complete so everything will go together. I really wanted to get a bumper on this now because if I wait it won't get done. So first I had to extend the front frame rails out approx. 6" in order to install the winch. From there I could start building the bumper. Here are some pics of the bumper build: Winch mounted and lower bar bent ![]() Notching down bars ![]() Top bar in place ![]() Top hoop with supports ![]() Finished the sides with .25" 2x3 ![]() And a few pics of the finished bumper ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Re: 92 Bronco SAS Here are some close ups of the front end. The steering still has to be figured out. The pics are just a temporary set up for moving it around. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is where the 2x4 is welded to the factory frame and filled in around the crumble zone ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Re: 92 Bronco SAS The bronco is making some progress. The truck needed some major attention in the rear. The tubs and quarter panels are rotten. I couldn't get replacement tubs so I decided to build my own and build them bigger than factory. I also moved them towards the back because the rear axle is moved approx 6" towards the rear. My new quarters will also be moved back. Here are some pics: A factory tub ![]() After removing all the rust ![]() ![]() The start of my 37" by 13" tub ![]() Traced out a side and cut it out ![]() The side welded on and measurements for where it meets the inner fender ![]() Then just connect the dots and cut ![]() I am also raising the gas tank so I have to lay this out at the same time ![]() I am going to use the factory filler neck and cap and use a after market cover outside ![]() A little more welding, grinding, seam filled and then paint ![]() ![]()

| Re: 92 Bronco SAS Replacing the rear quarter, first off cut off the old rotten fender and clean up the new inner fender. Keep in mind the new quarter is moved back: ![]() inner fender trimmed ![]() Cleaned up seam sealed and painted ![]() New quarter tacked on ![]() The old quarter ![]() And the new ![]()
