Should I buy 1968 Porsche 917?

Well... it's really a Porsche 917 replica (Laser 917) I've always wanted one since I was a kid and one came up for sale about 2 hours away from my house. I already checked it out in person and it's in dire need of a total restoration but that's what I expected. It's built (and registered) as a 1968 VW Beetle, and has a Chevy Corvair flat-6 with a 4-barrel carb. I'm 90% sure I'm going to buy the car (if he didn't sell it in the few days it's been since I checked it out)

If I don't get it I'm gonna be really pissed :rockwoot:

The pic I posted is from the ad. If I actually (and hopefully) go through and buy the car I'll post some better pics

Just an update, the guy told me the car was running, but when I checked out the car in person he told me it wasn't running (f-ing liar) He said for me to give him a few days to get the car running (it's been almost 3 weeks) I called the guy today and he said he didn't get a chance to work on it (surprise surprise). So I told him I'd buy it for much less than he asked (and he didn't seem to care) so next friday we're going to meet up and hopefully I'll be towing home the 917

and you better believe pics of me flippin' everyone off won't be far away

I'd be happy enough to see the 917 start & idle, let alone beat my Corvette :burnout:
