thank you. its a mild build, but i have a stock 3.08 geared rear end. its a 8.8 so its stronger than the original 7.5 but its still a stock ratio so i dont need a high reving motor quite yet. ive put in a 266 duration Crane cam, an 80 gph Summit Racing fuel pump, an Edelbrock Performer 289 intake and im topping it off with a 500 cfm Edelbrock carb.

im sure i could use about 600 cfm or so, but i had the 500 layin around the garage so ill throw it on there and i should get good throttle response with it.

wow i bet that sounds amazing... i thought about building a motor like that with a dual quad and all but id rather not spend the money for all forged internals. or is he just lucky enough that he hasnt made a grenade yet?

but yea with 429 cubes you wont need any more than 5500 rpm with the right gearing. although someday i would like to build a dual quad 440, drop it in my old dodge truck with 4" side pipes on it and crank out about 7500 R's. would be a glorious sound

i'd love to build a big block to run 8000 rpm
