#168 of 250. Built on March 1, 1995. The '95 Cobra R was sold only to persons who proved current membership in a recognized race santioning body, as well as additional proof of intent to campaign the car. Engineering emphasis was placed on more power, increeased fuel capacity, weight reduction, improved braking, enhanced suspension and better engine cooling. It was the quickest, best handling, and best stopping factory mustang built to date. Top Speed of 152mph. And, the most expensive. It also has the honor of being the first mustang in modern history to win an IMSA endurance race. This specific car is one of the eighteen that did NOT make it to the track. some of the mods are, 2000 Cobra R Borla side exhaust,4-Point Seat Belt Harnesses,Ford GT40 M-6049-X303 Aluminum Heads, and Ford 3.73 rear gears.Original Equipment Includes: 5.8 Windsor (351) V8, 3550 Tremec 5-Speed, and 20 gal Fuel Safe tank.

Nice list. I'd still like to give it a try, but your car seems like a collectors item, and it'd be a shame if something went wrong while on the track.

Not to you, but the previous poster: You shouldn't underestimate my wagon. Just performance wise, 370rwhp, 380rwtq. 0-60 in 5.01s, top speed of 170mph. And once the Diablo tuner finally comes out, along with my Air Hammer, and full exaust, I should be seeing 450rwhp, and 465rwtq.

Those stangs are sweet! And the 95 Cobra R is by far the cooler and definitely the rarest!

NEVER think that because you passed a car on the track or back road that your car handles better. If that were the case then the guy at VIR two weekends ago would be looking to upgrade his Viper GTS to an 86 Crown Victoria right now.

A mustang will handle very well, but a good driver can get a lot more out of a car (or in this case truck) than a bad driver. So you may be giving your truck the credit that you deserve.

Most all road course tracks will never see even close to top speed, and power means nothing when you gotta turn.

actually it was a vague statement based on skid pad and slolam specs. That and the fact that the braking is comparable. Also you of all people should know that even big unlikely road course vehicles can do quite well when the right parts are used.

I'm by no means saying that it can't. I was just saying that it may not be the truck as much as you. I put a lot of parts on my car, and it does well. But I know that almost every new car out there handles better than my car does stock. I just make people look bad on the track because I can drive it. And because tires are way more than half the battle.

Why does everyone always underestimate the way our trucks handle?

because its a truck and trucks arent supposed to handle, with the exception of the syclone which does very well because of the awd. But these things do handle decently. They are no evo, mini cooper, porsche (although the hotchkis kit puts it out ahead of the boxter), m5, etc but regular mustangs (older ones of course) and camaros arent that impressive for handling. Sure once you mod them they can be great.
