I have spend the last 3 nights preparing for this after work, today it was finally ready to come out. Now the fun starts, time to get BUILT!

In feb, I totaled my 98 mountaineer with 107k on the clock, 2k plus in mods and countless hours custom work. I got my $ from the insurance company and bought it back for $750.

With the left over $ I bought a high mileage 96 Exploder 5.0 AWD and still had a good bit of $ left.

The plan in progress:
Move mods from the Mounty to the X. Check
Strip the Mountaineer. Check
Pull the Motor. Check
Build up the Mountaineer 5.0 (full top end rebuild with 1.6 roller rockers, new rods, lifters, springs, minimum a Ford Racing E cam mabye something else, double roller timing chain, high flow water pump, maybe more as needed)
Put the newly upgraded motor in the 96 Explorer.
Add some more bolt ons (headers, e fan, SCT Xcal2, maybe more)
Manual transfer swap.

Good luck with it, I know how hard it is to lose all the customization work you put into a car. But at least you can get it done now, or at least do a few more things to this with everything out.
