Did you just wax after you clayed? I bet you could have gotten even better results with a polish between those steps.

I bought a new PC back in Feb and still haven't used it yet.

Is this a question? Polishes and cleaners remove oxidation and contaminates above the paint, but clay actually softens the paint up to remove contaminates embedded within. Depending on your driving conditions and climates, claying usually only needs to be done every 6 months. If you drive up and down dirt roads all day or park next to a coal furnace or have older/worn paint you'll have to do so more frequently, but general uses are twice a year.

Shine, gloss and depth of a finish/lsp is primarilly dependant on preparation. If you put wax/sealant on a turd then it's going to look like a waxed turd. But if you take the time to wash it properly, clean and prepare the paint, and then put your top coat on then you can make that turd look like a work of art.

*Edit - If you need any info on care & detailing, there is a pretty good forum at autopia.org

Ummm geting ready to fall off so i have a excuse to drop money for a new paint job and a little body work :ndance:

And this was my first time with the clay bar experience so results probabaly aren't optimal. I washed first, dried with my shammy(sp), clay bar, one coat of wax.

Looks good.

How much would it cost to get that all fixed up and painted?

Not looking to bad for being a 89, thats what almost 16? years old and no really noticable rust wholes. Good deal depending on how much you paid for it.

Depending on the rust spots, and what all needs done, you're probably looking at about 2-3k for a decent body shop to fix it all up. Good luck, and that'll look sweet with those black rims
