New Car

The Topaz has been giving me a hell of a lot of trouble the past few weeks, besides that the front end needs $1000 worth of work. So it was time for a change.

1992 Dodge Daytona
SOHC 3.0 L V6
auto
117, 000 kms or 73,000 miles
No rust, Fresh paint
super clean interior
Factory 6 speaker stereo system

$2000 CDN

The person from my family who is selling it is getting it inspected and hopefully safetied with in the next week. I'm aiming to pick it up in mid April once she gets her new car.

I'm gonna take the stereo and flowmaster muffler & tip off the paz and throw it on the Daytona.

I've allready checked out companies like Forward Motion for things like under drive pulleys, cam upgrades, and larger injectors. :D

i'm sorry to hear about the topaz, will you keep it around?

but i am glad about the new car. i've always liked the look of daytonas, especially the ones with the concealed headlights. but i like the look of that one you aim to get as well.

marvelous :)

I would like to keep it around, but it's my parents property and they don't want a bunch of cars on it. I'll probably just sell it for parts, $500. That money goes into the new speaker fund.

YES!!! Awesome buy man you are going to love it. Check out TurboDodge.Com - Turbo Dodge discussion forums., they have a 3.0L V6 section. And make sure the first thing you do to it is change the tranny fluid and filter. And make sure you use ATF+4, anything else will make it vomit its intestines all over the place. It's the same motor that my car has, and my car used to have the same tranny until I blew it up and swapped in the manual. Good find, I love these cars!

That right there is my #1 fear, the tranny. I've always heard how the Chrysler autotragic transmissions are pure slush boxes. I'm afraid to beat on this thing like i did the Topaz. 5 spd swap would be great, but I wouldn't know where to start. But that'll be a while away, once i get it i'll be focused on one big ass tune up, wax/detail, trans flush, and timing belt.

Yep and I'm sure you know that when you do the timing belt replace the water pump at the same time. These transmissions aren't too bad as long as you dont abuse them. But if you want to do a 5 speed swap I know exactly how to do it since I've done it on my car and walked a few people through it.

Just got the word. Inspection went great. absoloutley not a single thing wrong with it. Hell they even asked why she wanted to sell such a good car.

That's great to hear. I'm glad you found such a nice car in great shape like this. Plus it has low mileage! Oh and not to mention it's a friggin Daytona, those are about the coolest cars on the planet. Only thing I suggest besides swapping in a 5-speed is you hsould change out those wheels. The ones on it don't look too bad but a set of 15" factory alloys would look better. Maybe snowflakes or pumpers. :D

Changed the oil in the Daytona for my grandmother today. Got to take her for a spin down river road !!! Just to explain what river road is, It's a perfecty paved, smooth, road that runs along side the river. Your never more than 25 feet away from the river when your on this road. It has ups, downs, and winding curves that just flow with the river.

One hell of a stress reliever, The 3.0L V6 sounds like a 5.0 L mustang when crusing at 60 MPH. I stomp on it in the strate aways and this little power house comes to life. It's beautiful. I can't wait to weld my flowmaster on it, gonna sound killer.

I do beleive this is my new Honda Hunter. :D

PS: Jory, what is the oil capacity on the V6's?

4.5 quarts IIRC. You can use an oil filter for a Ford 5.0, it has about 1/3 more capacity and fits perfectly. I use purolator L30001.

I use Fram, all for the good grip they got. But I will probably go K & N.
