A 68 Camaro in excellent condition in KBB is probably <$5k. Your truck is special and is probably harder to replace than a regular Dakota. Could have gotten another grand or so outta them. :( Oh well.

why? its got the same one. both are r/t's so they have the same motor. and he never got around to doing anything to his (like i should talk i haven't got very far with mine either), so theres nothing different about it.

yeah his does have 15,000 less on it, but he only had his for less than a year so he never knew how it was treated before then anyway. these motors are actually really strong and dependable so 100,000 on it is nothing. they motors commonly go to 250,000 before needing to be rebuilt, whether it was beat on or not. Now the rest of the truck is another story. That is why you only see so many of them making it that far. They are usually scrapped before the motor is gone. The transmissions are horrible and anything after 80,000 is borrowed time. His was already past that, and mine is now too actually. So who knows what kind of condition that trans is in.
Im waiting for mine to go out. I just want it to last till i get out of school. Then I will build a kickass one that will stand up to whatever I finally decide to build the motor to.

but the bottom line is 15k miles different ain't worth changing the motor for.
