Klasse'd Red F150! (Huge pics)

In case any of you are interested in some other show quality wax/polishes for your ride, you may want to seriously consider Klasse. Among lots of detailers, Klasse is considered to be in the Top 3 polymer product lines you can use on your vehicle. The other 2, BTW, are Zaino and Blackfire. Klasse is actually an acrylic polish and sealant line. What Klasse does is it actually coats your paint with an ultrathin layer of protective acrylic, totally protecting your paint and brining out the luster and true color of your paint. Klasse is particularly good on flat Black and Reds and other dark, flat (nonmetallic) colors.

I have applied 1-2 layers of AIO polish (2 coats on hood), and 2-3 layers of Sealant Glaze (aka SG). I am working up to a minimum of 5 layers of SG to maximize my protection.

The following are a couple pictures testifying to how good this stuff is on red paint.

Zaino is best for metallic colors. I recommend that. You can only make silver look so much better though, especially since it's right off the lot. May or may not be worthwhile to try claybarring for rail dust and such though.

That red one looks great. I had to get Silver or something that would not show a ton of dirt and scratches because I hunt a bunch and will do a bunch of offroading in tight areas with branches and running down the side of it! I need to invest in some good compound as well! ha ha ha

Would you say that Klasse would work for a Factory Black paint job

For my truck Klasse definately works great so Im sticking with that. Klasse is really good on flat colors and dark colors like black and red. Zaino is good for metallics and light colors.

So CHV, Klasse.

Jasfrmn, personally Id have to say go with Klasse as well. Klasse is supposed to work well on blacks.

If you use Klasse it is best to go with the whole system, AIO and SG (Sealant Glaze). If you car is brand new you could get away with just using the SG, but in no case can you get away with using just the AIO. The AIO has limited protection qualities since its mainly a polish and meant to be a foundation for putting on SG. The SG is what will extend your protection out to 6months, epecially the more layers you put on. AIO by itself, I dunno maybe anywhere from 1-3 months? I havent experiemented with AIO by itself but other people have.

I'm confused (again!)

Yo Larence,
I have a Ranger with a mocha frost paint (light gold-metalic), so should I order the Zaino, or will the Klasse work O.K. on my paint. I know you said the Zaino works best on light colors, but I like the simpler process of the Klasse. You've already sold me on the Klasse system, so what do you think? Anyway, it's great to have some of you detailing gurus to consult on these matters. I'm sure you've spent considerable time learning your skills. thanks a lot Laurence. Oh yeah, that's a very nice SHINY truck. My wife and I both love the color. PEACE. Darby:thumbsup:

Oh dammit I forgot about this thread. Sorry I never answered your question Darby, but my first instinct says go for Zaino for your paint. Klasse would work great too, but it would be a darker, more liquid look, rather than bling bling like Zaino. So in the end it can also depend on what you prefer.

As for how long all the steps take... well... claying your car/truck can take a long ass time alone... especially your first time. These times, for a fullsized truck... easy could take 1+ hour claying... then dawn wash would take as long as a normal wash and dry, then you have to apply AIO all over, wait 30 mins, then buff. Then you can apply SG first coat all over, wait 30 mins-1 hour, then buff. If you were planning on doing it all at once, well, that is like half a day gone easily. I mean, it all depends on how fast you can wash, dry, apply and buff, really. And once the first layer of SG is on, just add another layer everytime you wash until you hit at least 5... from there you can do mild maintenance or switch over to carnuba waxes, which will give that warm carnuba glow.

Laurence

Thanks Laurence!

I've been wondering where the heck you've been. We need some detail gurus on this site. I hope everything is well with you, and that you've had a great summer. Thanks for the information. I've been going through some cleaning processes on my vehicles, and I'm about ready to do a #1 wax job on my Ranger . I'm probably going to go with the Zaino system, because my little truck deserves the best! I've been getting into this detailing stuff lately, and it's very relaxing. You can see your harvest at the end of the day, and can always see room for improvement. Welcome back Laurence. I hope you'll come around more often. See you guys later. PEACE. Darby

Detail Guru? Why didnt ya just ask? lol j/k

We use all kinds of stuff here. We got cabinets full of stuff. I handwax Meguiars on my truck. My little brother uses a Porter Cable orbital buffer and zaino's his truck (my old one) for now. he is more exterior and i am more interior detailing.

below (if it works) are some pictures of my old red truck which i gave to him when I got a new deep wedgewood blue one. this truck has been through trails (scratched the heck out of the side) mud, water, rocks, everything. it took lots and lots of compounding and waxing (about 3 months) but now its back to new!

keep in mind that when people put pics of trucks wax jobs on here it doesnt do it justice. its not until you step back and look at it in the sunlight that you get the full effect.

first, here is an Integra He did. Notice the dullness of the first picture.
