Preventing rust...

Alright well im going to remove the roll bar from the bed of the truck soon but in order to mount it...i had to drill 12 holes in the bed and run the bolts through....if i remove these im afraid the are going to cause problems with rust in my bed and i would like to prevent this if i could. Is there anything i can do to prevent rust from forming in my bed?

maybe drop the bolts back throught the holes to prevent the open metal to breath and be exposed to water?

If you want to cover the holes I would suggest fiberglass. It is a little harder to work with but being that the holes go through to the under side of the truck it wouldn't matter as much if it got wet. If bondo gets wet it will pop right off.
