Question JUST HOW TO INSTALL A PLASTIC SCOOP???

Hi Guys

I'm new to this forum and don't have that much experience with installing a plastic scoop to the hood of my '66 Mustang Convet.

I haven't looked into this project at all. That's why I writing this on the forum.
I believe that most scopps that are sold by the after market companies are PLASTIC and that's O.K.

Just how in the world would you install a plastic scoop on a hood?
What about attaching the scoop to the metal hood? Glue ! can't mig weld !

Measuring I can do along with centering the scoop. But what about adhearing the scoop to the hood.
Any and all suggestions by you who have done this will be greatly apprecaitec.

THANKS AND GOD BLESS YOU GUYS

Schooner

Hey bud, First of all WELCOME.
Back in the day we would center the scop. Then with a marker outline the area to cut. Then with saw in hand cut out the opening. Now today they take some type of material to cover the sharp edge. Next take the scop and rivit it to the hood. Next useing bondo lay down an even and smoth surface, after drying/cureing sand it down to primer.
Hope this helps.
