do they make a vinal primer paint or have you used just regular primer. I have painted my interior and I have to say I am very happy with it, I didnt use primer but I wet sanded and washes all the vinal very well. do you know how long the paint should last? I have had it done for about 3 months now, but I live in a cold climate, the paint has yet to experience hot external temps.

painting

Alaaskan, I have used regular paint from Wal-Fart or Lowes and used light coats of primer and clear coat when done. I have had mine done for awhile now with out any problems.:toungue::chevysucks:

most clears are made to protect the paint further. the clear that you get from the hardware store is meant create a hard protective coat (the harder the more durable).

when painting the interior of you truck I would recommend using an exterior paint. exterior paints have softer finishes, this allows them to expand and contract with the changing temperature. if you get an interior and it expands and contracts too much it will crack and come off.

just my .02 (I am in the paint industry)
