Sheet metal and a rivet gun would be a quick fix. A better one would be to plasma cut, or use a cutting wheel to remove all the cancer and weld in replacement pieces. If might be easiest to take measurements of the bed and find a suitable donor out there.

If the rust isn't that bad, there are plenty of products out there that remove rust. Some even convert it to a base primer like layer that can be sanded and painted over. Just check your local home depot or auto supply store.

Hey Lone... call those two votes for Chevy "sympathy votes." I like Chevy's too... gives me something to laugh at, and makes me realize how much I like my Ranger...

How do you get a chevy up to 70MPH? Put it on the back of a flatbed going down the highway.

There is a way to turn rust into a neutralized paintable surface. Put rustoleum "Stops Rust" primer on it and paint it. There is also another product at home depot called Rustoleum Rust Neutralizer where you put it on and scrub it out, or Naval Jelly, it disolves the rust.

the most important thing is that you either neutralize it or cut it out, if you try to throw a bed liner or somethin over it the rust will keep eating.

I wouldn't do this, especially if you are going to be hangin on to this truck for a while. In high skool my friend and I were tossing cinder blocks into the back of his chevy, and one went thru the liner and the bed, I can't remember what was dammaged under the truck, but I remember having to come pick him up for skool for almost a month. He did the same thing. The drop in is only plastic, which will bend warp, and crack, this will let water in when it rains, and wont fix the problem since water can be traped.

use straight sheetmetal to fix the rust problem then get a sprayed in bed liner to cut out all of the rust but make sure that you have no rust when it is sprayed in

I didn't use this stuff, but stuff just like it. Of course you will want to sand it down if you want it to look good, but if you just want to seal up the cancer and throw some paint over it, this is all you need. It's usually right next to the Naval Jelly in any autozone store.
