yea shaved my 86's tailgate. the part thats indented is now smooth, i used 16 guage metal,if i had a camera i would do a how to but sorry no camera. i also used my new plasma cutter and turned the handle around and since the old rangers tailgates don;t pop out in the inside i just cut out the back, re hooked up the cables that open it and then welded it to the tailgate, then used a small pieve of 18 guage and welded it to the handle and to the tailgate so its there for good, pretty trick if u ask me, and yea pics are on there way of the notch, and the gate
