i have a gen 1 ranger (83-88) and was wonderin what kind of mods are availabe for the grill. i have a very limited budget and little time, but any help will be apreciated. thanks

i'd check on ebay to see what all's out there... but the second best bet would be to look in a truck magazine.... i'd bet you can get several different kinds.... probably no more than $150

check out the gutter guard mod.....or the aerostar grille mod...both are pretty cool,and not real expensive.

i know the home depot grill, but i am really thinkin about the aerostar grill, i talked to a guy on RPS that did it and he said it wasnt hard, so i am thinkin about doin that

i work at home depot, when i worked in lumber i sold import people the grills. you can buy one, cut it out to fit particular body kits and sell it for like 75 bucks each (the materials cost like 8.97 i think and with that you can probably make about 3 bumper inserts, front and back)

im not sure how it holds up to rust though, but i can tell you its really cheap and easy to bend and mangle.

on my 90 i custom fit "cubes" of that home depot stuff so it was even with the face of the grille. it was real nice looking. by the way, will the grille from a 90 fit an 88? I could use the mesh again

2 different grilles in an 88 and a 90...

I custom made "cubes" for the grill on my 90' so that the mesh sat flush with the face of the grille. i still have the pieces even though the grille was mashed up. anyone intrested in the pieces can take em or ill even make new ones if you want. its just a little bit more effort than slapping it on the back side of the grille.
