| Shock Mount Random question
Up here in Massachusetts, the DPW uses some pretty volatile stuff to salt the roads in the winter, and that causes hell on my frame. Long story short, I need a new shock mount in the back of my 2000 Ranger. The upper mount on the driver side rotted away and now I have a really cool banging noise when I drive around on our pristine roads.
The exact same thing happened to my 1987 Ranger about 6 years ago and I replaced the mount no problem, but now I cant get the part.
None of the local parts stores have the mount, LMCTruck.com doesnt have it, and even Ford dealers cant get it. That goes for any year, not just 2000.
Im considering hitting the junk yards and pulling one, but Id rather go new for something like that. As far as I can tell, the mount hasnt changed over the years so its likely that any year will work. Id also like to avoid going to a shop, so Im concerned that I may have to make something myself.
For now, I'm going to remove the shock all together so the bed doesn't get dented any worse, but does anyone know of a place that exists where I can still get a new one?
