spitting and sputtering

i have a 2.9 stx ranger 4x4 86 or 87 not sure. when i drive about 1/2 hour or about thirty miles my truck starts to miss or flood or something that sounds like those.just replaced plugs and wires got better for couple days then bad anybody had this problem?

recheck your firing order, recheck your spark plug gap, maybe a plug wire not seated all the way on the plug. good luck.

friend check those for me while i was at work. all good
it seems to do it at about 20 to 30 miles of driving.

also i have a manifold leak that you hear when it starts to miss you dont hear the leak really anymore it is the passenger side rear that leaks

Remove gas cap when the problem starts. The tank may not be vented enough. There could be a vacuum in the tank.

I agree with seemoAR but I would definately fix the manifold leak, as this would be a major vacuum leak which also will cause a motor to miss and act erractic.

i think you should try replacing the fuel filter first.If it still does it, you probably need a fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator.

well i have changed fuel filter,tank,intank pump, otherpump checked plugsand all. next i am changing water temp sensor since it takes awhile to shut off. man this sucks
someone else said change computer component that is connected to distributor/coil not sure what he said it was called.

the part is called a tfi module. (thick film integrated ignition module. i have changed lots. heat sensitive component try a hair dryer to heat, or ice to keep cool and running longer to prove this is the actual problem. i like to confirm my diagnosis
