How to remove adhesive from dash?

The previous owner of my truck put velcro on some places on the face of my dash. I guess it was to hold a cell phone, or a CB mike. The velcro has some heavy duty adhesive holding it in place. What can I use to remove it without distorting the color or messing up my dash. I really need someone who knows about these matters to respond. Please help. Thanks a lot. Take care my Ranger Brothers. I'm really outta here this time. I'm going to bed. I'll catch you Guys later. darby:wavey:

i would use some stuff called goo gone. you can pick it up at any store. let it set on whatever you are taking off for 3 to 5 min then take a paper towel any wipe it off it might take you 1 or2 times to do this then shine it up with a little armor all.

lighter fluid will work and won't really harm the dash. just make sure you use a good protectant after you've cleaned off the adhesive.

Thanks Guys,
I think I'll start with some citrus type of stuff first. If that don't cut it, I'll try the polish remover. Thanks for helping out. Darby:thumbsup:

Yipes! don't use that! it will eat the plastic dash! I've used it before to remove paint from small parts. Stick with the lighter fluid or some paint thinner.

I agree!!!!!! Goo gone is the best thing to use. I used it to take off the glue left behind after i striped my tint. It works really well!
