Re: help

Vacuum and wash it are probably the cheapest improvements for the typical 83. I'd say what do you hope to get out of your truck, off road, street rod? I personally like tearing through the junkyard to see what will fit it, whether it’s off of another Ranger or not. That tends to be the cheapest way to go but not quite what everyone is looking for. I guess it depends on what you hope to accomplish in the end.
Depending on what state you’re in, you could also smash your windshield and get a free replacement installed through your insurance company. Might want to think long and hard about that one though

1987 Ranger:
Roll Bars & Bull Bars, fair share of battle scars, plenty of lights, rock crawling lights under chasis, small lift, Tonoeau Cover, most of the electrical wireing is my own, Sony Head Unit with 500watt amp & 3 12" subs. Extended Cab, 11 meter 5 watt CB/PA radio, 800 CM transciever, 2 meter Yaesu 50 watt transciever / weather reciever, + much more! (nicknamed "The Batmobile") See me driving around with the 12 foot antenna and red flag on back (easy to find in parking lots or if I ever loose it in some big puddle.)

Re: help

my plans are to make it a decent 4x4 but junkyard is the best place in the world to find what can be put on a vehicle currntly i am taking an xlt body off an 84 to replace the body that is in really bad condision but it is a fuel injected 4 cylinder and the ranger is a carberated v6 and im debating about putting the gearing under the 84 since it is only a 2wheel drive so by unbolting the 2 wheel drive and bolting in the 4 it might be better off the v6 is a 2.8 and the four is 2.6
question is it possible to make a carbed motor a fuel inject motor

Re: help

what part of OR do you like to carve up? I am going to Prospect tomorrow to look at an F-250, 4X4, 1964. The price is only $250, but still have to see what the product is.

Re: help

If you are wanting an improvement in just LOOKS I would say throw some rims and tires on there. That's one of the best things to do to make a truck look good. Performance improvements can be made just by simple tune ups like changing the plugs and wires, new air filter, fuel filter etc

Re: help

instead of improving the looks i would suggest to improve its mileage. You can think about outfitting with a cold air intake, a free flow exhaust system, and a computer programmer to modify the engine setup.
