Exclamation need help on tailgate skin for 91 ranger

I just finished installing Sir Michaels tailgate handle relocator and I am in the process of getting a piece of sheet metal to weld over where existing handle was and where the aluminum plate originally was. Is there any one out there that has pictures of this done or the process or what you did and what you used. I would grealty appreciate any info that you have.

I have done this before. The tailgate I did it on was curved. I just got a piece of sheet metal and formed it to fit the tailgate. Then welded it in (keep the heat low though). You will just have to finish it off with some fill. When forming sheetmetal I tend to use a telephone pole. Works great for making larger panels.
