here are some things to keep in mind which all effect your mileage

-Mass Air Flow Sensor; clean if dirty
-Fuel Filter; Replace after proper interval
-PCV valve; Replace after 60,000 miles
-Spark Plaug Wires; replace when replacing spark plugs
-Tire Pressure: Doesn't hurt to check every couple of months, when ever your at a gas station
-Injector/Fuel System cleaner: service or out of a bottle
-ECU; It doesn't hurt to reset the computer to default
-Alignment of Tires; When it is suspected that they are out of alingment, it can cost ya a few MPG.

It helps when you put your truck into your signature. That way everybody knows what year, model, and engine size, etc, you have.

as it may be in his profile a signature saves alot of time not all of us have!

There are several Rangers with 11-15MPG and several with 18-23MPG.

I get a constant 20MPG driving like a 17 year old.
When my mom and dad drive for a week or so, or i drive carefully i get 26MPG. Never been below 18

Re: Fuel mileage sucks

Mike has listed the most important things I think. I do have to say that ford never has been much on gas mileage. Something as simple as a dirty air filter has been known to drop us up to 2 miles per gallon. I've heard others say more ....

Re: Fuel mileage sucks

I used to have a 94 I think it was and I drove it to the ground well almost but I never got less than 18-20 I'd say. Maybe replace all filters mainly air and fuel see if that helps. Maybe just the truck cause every truck is different ya know?

you should follow some guidelines if you want better mileage like...

1. Perform Regular Maintenance Tasks
2. Maintain Good Aerodynamics
3. Keep it Steady
4. Turn if Off When You Can
5. Use Your Air Conditioning Less
6. Don't Haul Items You Don't Need
7. Use the Right Kind of Gas
8. Plan Your Route
