Do I count seven wires? That would amount to 2 speakers, and 1 power, 1 switched power, and 1 ground. So how many speakers came in the bronco 2? It looks like a really small amp, but not for sure. Any part numbers legible on the item?

Definitiely appears to be a factory amp.

What about a computer attachment cable? Kinda looks like mine in my ranger...cept mines smaller and under the steering wheel on the kick panel.

yea....i would definately guess that its an amp. but i don't have any supportive evidenceon that....the hook-up on it looks like stereo, and the heat sync...give me that idea.

ok now i am sure it is an amp....but i have no idea how i would go around wiring it....none of the wires match the chiltons or haynes manuals.....guess i will be payn the local ford a visit to look at there books.....btw there were two more connectors that were tore off of the wiring harness for me they connect in the computer like end and one has 8 wires and the other one has 4......so im thinkin 8 wires for rear speakers and 4 wires for front speakers...cause i think eb broncos had 4 speakers in the rear might be wrong but i will find out soon enough

Don't think that is an amp guys. My '94 Ranger has the same thing and it is the 4x4 shift module. Mine is located in the ext. cab behind the drivers side passenger seat. Mine has the United Tech. on it too. As long as the Bronc was 4x4 then that is what it is.

Looks like the female adapter to the power harness of a ford audio system. that harness is most likely missing an extension that leads to the radio. Go to an audio place and ask to see the audio wiring harness for a ford. Im willing to bet the power harness is identical.

now that i recall, my old 90 Ranger DID have a factory amp and i had to hard wire the speakers to the cd player because the factory amp had a short or a bad ground or something. Maybe thats the reason it was unhooked
