If you change the master cyl. yourself the hardest part is bleeding the lines and there is a little trick I learned that usually does not require you to bleed the lines

Pump the master cylinder with brake fluid to get air out of the cyl before you install it. Then hook up brake lines loosely have someone push the brake pedal to the floor. While he holds the pedal to the floor tighten up the brake lines. That way when the pedal was pushed to the floor it fills the lines with fluid and the air comes back out of the fittings. When the lines are tightened the pedal can be released and then pump up the pedal refill the cylinder and all should be fine. I have done it this way and had success each time. If you pedal feels spongy after this is done you should then bleed your brakes to be safe.
