6.0L powerstroke now available

We just got our updated order guides to order the new 6.0L Powerstroke and the 5-spd torqshift automatic trans. production will begin 12/2. The old 7.3L will run for the last time in Nov (at least in super duty and excursion). The 7.3 will still be used in vans.
ANyway 325HP@3300rpm, 560 lb-ft @ 2000 rpm.
Improved shift quality and noise.
Better fuel; easier servicability.
Both engine and trans are BEST IN CLASS.
Being a truckie, I can't wait.
No prices yet but we are already filling orders and telling customers we will just add whatever the difference is in the eng and trans.

No firm info on the 6 cyl version

As soon as I hear of anything, I will post it. Have already ordered (2) 6.0L's for customers.

Just back from Dearborn

Just got back from the Dearborn Proving Grounds where I got the chance to drive the 6.0L with the torqueshift automatic.

What an awesome combo. 325hp, 560lb ft torque. It is definately a lot quieter and Ford says 8% better fuel economy. Price is approx $280 more for the engine and $325 more for this automatic over the 4R100.

We even drag raced a Chevy Silverado with the duramax and allison. With a 10,000# trailer, the powerstroke won the 1/4 mile by a full length. Wintout a trailer, 2 truck lengths.

here at the Sharonville transmission plant we have been building this new tranny at low volume for about 3 months now. We get to see alot of the new vehicles that any of our tranny's go into. They had that F150 in its styrofoam wraps here about two months ago. It looked different? But then again thats what the stryofoam is for, so the others can't steal ideas. That new trans is really "built tough". I have seen them do things to that tranny on our test loop that would make you cringe. They will rev the engine up to 4000 rpm and throw it in gear. Then they will go about 35 MPH and throw it in park to see at what speed the parking gear will lock in and if it will break. My favorite is when they white smoke the tires doing the 4000 rpm shift.

shelf life

When I was up at the Dearbord proving grounds driving these, we were told that the trans has a 250,000 mile life expectancy. What an improvement. I don't know how many 7.3's we had shell the old automatics
