Thumbs down Euro-bred Lincoln dead in the water

Whenever we get the chance to corner an exec from FoMoCo, the topic of conversation inevitably gravitates towards Ford's European lineup and questions about why these vehicles never make it Stateside. The answers always center around currency exchange rates and how the weak dollar won't allow such importations to take place. Now those same exchange problems have killed off a Lincoln crossover that is expected to be built at the automaker's Saarlouis plant in Germany.

The European Ford CUV was originally intended to make the trek across the Atlantic and be rebadged a Lincoln when it goes on sale next year. Taking cues from the Iosis X concept that bowed in Paris in 2006, it might have even portended a new styling direction for Lincoln.

The cute 'ute may still come to market in the U.S., but that's not going to happen until a C-segment vehicle is built somewhere in North American in the next ten years. Unfortunately, that's another story we've heard before.

Is that thing really for sale in Europe. Looks like it has potential if they could just tone down the futuristic look a bit. Im not feeling those side mirrors

It's reminiscent of the old Isuzu VehiCross. I like it.
Hard to tell if that's a 2 or 4 door....?
