Expedition Oil Filter

Well I just changed the oil and filter in my wifes epedition.

For the life of me I cant figure out why they decided to put the oil filter inside the front bumper.

I know they needed room, but who looks for it inside the front bumper anyways?

Not me.

Re: Expedition Oil Filter

I've noticed that on a Chevy truck or two. I'd much rather have it there then have to cram my arm up under the truck. Was it easy to get off?

Re: Expedition Oil Filter

It took 20 minutes to find it, right out in plain view while on the creeper.

Took two minutes to replace.

It was funny afterwards, but frustrating while I was feeling and looking all around the block finding nothing, first.

Re: Expedition Oil Filter

I think it's done for cleanliness. On my 4.6 it's on the block, there is a half tube thing to direct oil away.....doesn't work very well...messy!

Re: Expedition Oil Filter

I much prefer oil filters off the block and in easier places to get at.
