Re: Problem fixed. Thanks for zero help.

For future reference. AutoZone, Advance and a few other chains offer free testing of suspected defective parts.
You might check around and see who offers this service in your area. Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner.

Does O'reilly's offer that service? I live in BFE and the closest Autozone and Advance is 40 miles away. I'm just glad I was able to figure it out. It took a while. I have never had this happen and I don't think I have ever heard of it happening to anyone one else. Though I am sure it has.

Re: Problem fixed. Thanks for zero help.

According to their web site O'Reilly's has free electrical testing. As do most of the major chains. Just to be sure, you might want to ask, next time you're in the store.
As for new parts being bad. That's always a possibility. In the past I've had 1 wire in a set of 8 plug wires be bad. Rotors, distributor caps, you name it.
If it's electrical, don't assume it's good just because it's new. For that matter that goes for any new part.

Re: Problem fixed. Thanks for zero help.

Back when I was a selling parts I came accross a discovery most people would never think about doing and that is checking plugs with an ohmeter. We found that different brands would get different readings,Champions and Bosch would be all over the place and AC's & Autolites would have consistent readings.Hmm, food for thought??
