What is a good way to diagnose a bad ignition module?

Just curious as to how to do this? The truck starts fine but something is not right. Should I have a check engine light if it's bad?

Re: What is a good way to diagnose a bad ignition module?

It does not sound like a module issue.I'd strongly suggest taking a look at the cap & rotor, especially the rotor. That's what it sounds like.Look at it.
