Angry Expedition Rotor warping

I have a 98 expedition and have had the pleasure of having to replace the rotors due to warping. I have talked to several chevy owners and they are also having this type of problem. Anyone else have this problem with their SUV?

P.S. I am putting in slotted rotors on the front with ceramic pads to try to keep this from happening again. Any information you have on different rotors and the pros/cons of slotted, cross drilled, and standard rotors will be appricated. I'll let everyone know how the performance varies for the OME brakes.

P.P.S. I have to note that the OME brakes were severly lacking in stopping ability for this size vehicle. A freind who has a Tahoe also has concerns on the braking capability on it with the OME brakes. I just have to wonder why they dont put better braking systems on these vehicles.

I run slotted rotors with ceramic pads on my Explorer. Far better than the OEM setup. for Expeditions, you have a lot more choices than me for an Explorer. The slotted rotors will help tremendously.

Or you could break down and buy a set of Bembros.... :naughty:

By the way - Where are you in Utah?

You will like the the slotted fine. They do not do ask good of a job as the Brembos - but do not have the dollar sign for them either....

I moved to Salt Lake in November. Haven't made it to St George yet. I'm hoping to take some time off this sumemr a little and go down to see the area.
