Wheelin my 97 V-8 AWD Explorer

For anyone that wonders how your Explorer might be offroading.

I took my 97 Eddie Bauer V-8 wheelin today, now I have heard the AWD does not perform that well offroad, how wrong! I was quite impressed with the AWD system. I made it through some mud I thought I was sure to get stuck in. I was only limited because of the clearence and better tires, it crusied through the thick mud with no problems, when I thought there was going to be a problem I just hammered the V-8 and it pulled my right through, Very cool!

Don't underestimate AWD, it works well for moderate wheelin.

Greg

Greg.. I know what you mean! I have a '96 V8 that I just converted to AWD. I took it up to the mountains just after a fresh snow and I was going places I never thought possible! My buddy I went with has a '97 Ch*vy Z71 and I was making it up hills that he couldn't! AWD is awesome.
