re 2wd to 4wd

I believe the 87 to 90 bronco2s came 2wd with a dummy transfer case. I know of 2 guys who bought a 2wd bronco2 cheap and converted it over. the bronco2, ranger and explorer all shared similar frames(different lengths). drivers seat forward should be identical between ranger and explorer, exception being boxed frame in engine/front axel area in the 4wds (2wd is open channel?) the 2wd bronco2 frames were the same as 4wd. hope this will help.:fordsrule:

Wow.. I know this thread is a little old.. but I just got done doing a 2WD to 4WD conversion on a 2nd gen. Explorer ('96). I got really lucky with parts and such.. and the whole thing costs me around $500. Cheap, huh? You can read about my conversion here. http://www.section525.com/xpage/swap

That looks like it was some job. In another post I recommended you get an exhaust system. My bad...by reading your website, I see you have one already. I also saw that you're looking at an E-303 cam for that engine. I have the same cam in my '71 Torino. It's VERY nice. I threw the X-303 heads on that motor too. REALLY woke that thing up.
