2010 Ford Taurus
The Ford Motor Company unveiled the 2010 Ford Taurus at Detroit’s NAIAS, a complete redesign of the flagship sedan, and one that reaches us a full year ahead of schedule. What makes the timing so impressive are the new model’s high ambitions —*and how well it delivers.*
The new car checks off on the consumer wish list across many areas, combining a sleek new design with refined driving dynamics, a comfortable interior, transformative new technology, and maximum fuel efficiency. The cost for these improvements is equally appealing: The 2010 Taurus will carry the same price tag as the 2009 model.
Outside, a lower roofline, raised shoulder lines, more sculpted edges, and rakish headlights contribute a newfound air of power. Always a great car for transporting friends and family, the new Taurus tempts you to slip off for a solo drive.*
It won’t disappoint:*”Like all Ford products, the Taurus will be fun to drive, and it will deliver best-in-class fuel economy,” says Mark Fields, Ford’s president of the Americas.*Ford’s 3.5-liter Duratec V-6 brings 263 hp and 249 lb.-ft. of torque to the vehicle, while delivering 28 highway and 18 city miles per gallon. And the new SR1 suspension configuration brings an optimal balance to cornering and handling. Driving dynamics become even more refined with SelectShift, an option available on the SEL and Limited models of the Taurus that features shift control paddles set into the steering wheel.*
Inside, superior craftsmanship and a fluid, seamless design give the Taurus a feel of luxury well above its price tag. As does the arsenal of cutting-edge technology available to drivers. Adaptive cruise control monitors traffic and adjusts the car’s speed while in cruise control mode. Keyless entry and push-button start provide added convenience. Ford’s new MyKey system lets parents set limits on teen driving habits. Ford SYNC and Voice-Activated Navigation System allows drivers to control the car’s functions without surrendering control of the wheel.
These and other features make the 2010 Taurus a safer, smoother, and flat-out superior sedan for America’s driving future.*
